The HydroKinetic process is the removal of tissues with YSGG laser-energized water droplets. HydroKinetic energy is produced by combining a spray of atomized water with laser energy. The resulting HydroKinetic energy gently and precisely removes a wide range of human tissue including tooth enamel (the hardest substance in the body), and soft tissue (gum tissue) with no heat and no pain in most cases.

Our office volunteered to promote healthy lifestyles to children and teenagers. Our emphasis was to help kids distinguish between healthy and unhealthy foods, activities, and habits.
We used a cake walk to have some fun while testing their judgement and explaining healthy or unhealthy choices. Prizes were given out to all who participated along with a sport water bottle. A drawing for an electric musical tooth brush was also held.

We had over 500 kids participate in our activities. The kids had a great time and we probably had one of the loudest rooms with all the hip, upbeat music that was playing during the cake walk. Our staff also had a wonderful time interacting with the kids. It was a fun and very rewarding night.

We all got a good laugh when he dropped the basket of super balls that went bouncing all over the room.

Dr. Chang was invited to speak to 8th graders about the dental profession. Some of the topics that were discussed included his decision to be a dentist, education required, rewards of being a health care provider, and the future of dentistry as a career. The students were very attentive and interested.
The discussion ended with a question and answer session which seemed to revolve around how some musicians have gold front teeth, what was wrong with Tom Hanks in the movie Cast Away, and stories about experiences at the dental office.
Dr. Chang ended his presentation by giving some advise to the students, letting them know that if they came to his office requesting gold front teeth that he wouldn't do it, learning from Tom Hanks and seeing a dentist regularly and to not believe most of the stories about dental treatment.
